When was the last time....

...you wanted something so bad that it scared you?

Not needed. Not should have. WANTED. The kind of want that makes your chest tight and your hands a little shaky because it actually means something.

When was the last time you did something risky, embarrassing, exhilarating? Something a little crazy? Checked something off the bucket list?

Wait...Do you even have one those anymore?

When was the last time you did something that absolutely lit you up inside? The kind of lit up that you can't wipe off your face, that shows up in the way you walk into the room.

When was the last time you felt... alive?

If you can't remember or if any of this seems rare or foreign to you, keep reading.

You Followed the Plan

You probably don't even remember agreeing to it. It just became the plan, the one everyone around you nodded at, the one that made sense to follow because it always has.

Risk got quietly reclassified as reckless. Dreaming got downgraded to "unrealistic." You learned to want smaller, safer things, and you got good enough at it that most days you don't even notice you're doing it anymore.

Most days move fast anyway. There's always something next, something due, something to handle. Easy to stay in motion, showered, dressed, moving through the list, and never actually notice you've stopped choosing any of it. You're there, but some part of you checked out a while ago, and nobody hands you a moment to notice that's what happened.

You're not sitting around thinking "something is wrong with my life." That's not this. It's quieter than that. In fact, if someone asked right now what it is you really want, you're likely to tell them you already have everything you want. Maybe out of habit, or maybe out of the desire to remove yourself from that conversation. Either way, would that be entirely honest? I wonder.

And somewhere along the way you learned to check yourself before anyone else could. Before you did the risky, naughty, or silly thing. Before you had too much fun or went off script a little. Before someone else ever had the chance to say something, the voice inside got there first. "What would people think?" "That would be so embarrassing." "What if I fail?" Not "imagine if it all worked out." Just, what would they think, watching you go against the plan, the expectation, the norm.

So you didn't. You kept it small, kept it safe, kept it inside the lines everyone agreed on a long time ago without ever actually saying so out loud.

"That's just not how life works," you told yourself. And you believed it, mostly because everyone around you seemed to believe it too.

The Fire

You didn't lose it. It's still burning. Barely...

A pilot light under everything you built to keep yourself safe. One "that's just how it is" at a time until the flame sat so low you forgot you ever needed to check in on it. Just big enough to survive but too small to warm anything.

This is where we pour fuel on it.

Where we stop managing that flame and start feeding it. Where we dig back into who you were before you learned to shrink her, and get reacquainted, really reacquainted with what she actually wants. Not the polished, agreeable version everyone else know.

We unbury what's been suffocating it. Every "should". Every borrowed opinion. Every reason you talked yourself out of wanting more than what fit neatly inside the life you were handed.

Then we burn it all. The "should's" and "shouldn'ts". The "can's" and "can'ts". Every rule from a book someone else wrote and handed you without asking if you wanted it. Fuel, all of it, not weight to carry anymore.

And then we stop asking permission. To dream. To want. To desire. To live loudly, take up space, feel it all the way through, without waiting for someone else's approval first.

Turn the dial back up. Let it burn.

Take it back

Part of that is getting to actually know yourself again, not the polished version everyone else sees, but the real one underneath. What she wants. What she needs. What's been true the whole time, even when you weren't listening. That relationship with yourself becomes the thing everything else gets built on.

Imagine catching your reflection and not flinching. Saying yes to the thing you'd normally talk yourself out of. Laughing too loud in public and not caring who heard. Wearing the thing, saying the thing, wanting the thing, out loud, without doing the math on what people might think first.

Imagine feeling full again. Not fed, not comfortable, full. The kind of full where purpose stops being a word you use and starts being something you're actually living inside of. Where passion isn't a memory from ten years ago. Where fulfillment doesn't depend on anyone else's approval, because you finally trust your own.

And you learn what your fire actually needs to keep burning, who gets to add fuel to it, and who's been quietly stealing the oxygen for years. That's your call now. Not theirs.

This is what getting your life back actually feels like.

What's next?

You don't need a plan. You don't need to have it all figured out.

Up to this point, you've spent more energy worrying about judgment than about actually living.

You've stopped dreaming past what feels "realistic."

You can't remember the last time something scared and excited you at the same time.

You're tired of being tired and you know there's more to life out there.

You keep waiting for permission...

But all of that ends right now.

This is where you stop strolling and start living like you mean it.
