About Jon Young & Ryzng Phoenix
Ryzng Phoenix. We all know the story: the phoenix doesn't rise until it's been consumed; burned down to nothing before it becomes something more beautiful than it ever was, before it awakens to its true power and purpose. That's my story. And it's the story of everyone who has faced their fire head-on and let it change them, instead of letting it end them.
Who I Am
For a long time, I didn't actually know who I was. I was good at fitting in wherever I landed, trading masks depending on the room, because I didn't like the person underneath them. I used drugs and alcohol to avoid the weight of actually living: making choices, taking responsibility, showing up as myself. Some of that came from things that happened to me growing up. Some of it I built myself, one bad decision at a time. Either way, it left me lonely, angry, scared, and disconnected from a version of myself I used to recognize, the athlete, the musician, the person who used to feel like something.

What turned it around wasn't a program. It was faith, not religion, just something bigger to stand on, combined with discipline, honesty, and a willingness to choose differently, one day at a time. I rebuilt from there. Not back to who I was. Into who I was becoming.
I believe the people most qualified to help you out of a place are the ones who've actually been there. I'm not trying to save the world. I'm trying to help one person at a time find their way back to themselves, their strength, their power, their joy, before they ever have to fall as far as I did.
That's true on the athlete side too. I gave up on athletic goals I never let myself fully chase, potential I let slip away right along with everything else. That's a big part of why I love working with kids and teens now: giving them the tools, the skills, and the insight to go further than I did, and to actually enjoy the sport while they're doing it.

Why Ryzng Phoenix Exists
Most people I work with aren't in crisis. They're just settled into a life that doesn't light them up anymore, buried under roles, routines, and expectations until they've lost pieces of themselves without noticing. Ryzng Phoenix exists to help them build back. Identity first. Body, training, and everything else follows.
Everything here runs on the same handful of things: faith, family, fitness, and business, because a life that actually works has to hold up in all of them, not just one.
The Work

I'm a certified personal trainer, transformation specialist, and identity coach. I coach adults through identity coaching and personal training combined, and I train baseball and softball athletes through the Ryzng Phoenix performance program at Summers Sports in Akron. Home base for adult coaching and training is TIYT Fitness in Sagamore Hills.
It's time to take back control of your life. If any of this feels familiar, let's talk.
